Take a walk through the lower Hagley Powder Yard while we tell the remarkable stories of 19th century black powder manufacturing and of the resilient people who worked here.  We explore the challenges of making a dangerous product within the context of 19th century industry standards.  The tour ends with a signal cannon demonstration to illustrate the power of explosions.  Tour involves walking on uneven ground and is approximately 90 minutes.  Because this tour explores the hazards of black powder manufacturing, it includes discussion of historic accidents and loss of life.
